The best AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT graphics cards – Review 2023

The AMD Radeon RX 6700XT is the current entry-level model of the new AMD graphics card generation. Intended as a direct competitor to the Nvidia Geforce RTX 3060, it even surpasses the significantly faster model, the RTX 3060 Ti. With a full 12 GB of GDDR6 VRAM, it is also ideally suited for current games in WQHD resolution. In terms of price, if you look at the RRP, the Radeon RX 6700 XT is also just above the RTX 3060 Ti and, in terms of performance, even scratches the RTX 3070 here and there.

As is typical for AMD, the model selection is comparatively small. A total of less than 20 different models are currently listed in the price comparison. The RX 6700 XT graphics cards differ mostly from the cooling solution, but also partly from the base and boost clock of the graphics chip. As always, the Sapphire and PowerColor models from AMD are particularly recommended. But other manufacturers, such as Asus, also install good, quiet, and powerful cooling solutions.

HardwareSchotte has always listed the currently best RX-6700-XT graphics cards for you in a clear comparison. Our graphics card ranking shows you how the AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT performs overall among all gaming graphics cards.

How does an AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT compare to the RX 6800?

The new Navi 22 chip from AMD, which is installed on the RX 6700 XT, performs almost 15 percent slower than an AMD RX 6800. The new entry-level card in the AMD 6000 series also costs significantly in terms of the RRP fewer. An RX 6700 XT should go over the virtual counter from 479 euros. That’s a fair bit cheaper than the RRP of the RX 6800.

Which power supply do you need at least for an AMD RX 6700 XT?

The AMD RX 6700 XT is relatively hungry when it comes to power consumption in games. Depending on the model, especially with cards that are overclocked ex-works, the power consumption can be on the level of an RX 6800. This means that you should install at least a high-quality 600-watt power supply. If you still own a power-hungry CPU with many cores, 650-700 watts are recommended.

How big are the different RX 6700 XT models?

Even the supposedly smallest AMD Navi graphics cards can be quite large. Depending on the cooling solution, the models can be up to 32 centimeters long. So before you buy it, it’s better to look at the technical data of the case again to see if there is enough space.

Does the RX 6700 XT offer better value for money than the RTX 3060 Ti?

The price-performance ratio of the two competitors can be roughly equated based on the RRP. The AMD RX 6700 XT costs 60 euros more but offers better performance. If you look at the power consumption, the RTX 3060 Ti is slightly ahead.

Is my CPU too slow for an RX 6700 XT?

There isn’t a good general answer to that, since this naturally also depends on the respective games, the resolution, and the settings in the game. For a graphics card like the AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT, we recommend at least a reasonably current Intel Core i5 or AMD Ryzen 5 or better.

AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT or Nvidia RTX 3070 – which graphics card is better?

The competition from Nvidia is a bit faster here. On average, the RTX 3070 is about 4 to 5 percent faster than the AMD RX 6700 XT but currently costs almost 200 euros more. As far as price performance is concerned, the AMD graphics card is ahead.

What is the difference between the AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT and RX 6750 XT?

The RX 6750 XT is simply a new edition with a slightly higher chip and RAM clock. As a result, the RX 6750 XT is about four percent faster in games on average but sometimes costs a little more. Everyone has to decide for themselves whether it’s worth the extra cost.
