The performance of the new model is only slightly above that of an RTX 3070 and is probably the answer to AMD’s Radeon RX 6800, which previously kept the RTX 3070 in check.

The Geforce RTX 3070 Ti is currently at about the price level of a normal RTX 3070. Here you should of course go directly to the more powerful Ti model. In addition to the Founders Edition directly from Nvidia, there are, as usual, various models from the usual well-known Nvidia board partners.

Which power supply do I need for an RTX 3070 Ti?
The new RTX 3070 Ti draw even more power from the socket than the RTX 3070. At just under 300 W, it is around 70 watts more in direct comparison. That’s pretty much the power consumption of an RTX 2080 Ti. We, therefore, recommend a high-quality power supply with at least 650W. If there is also an overclocked and/or very powerful CPU with many cores in the system, you should perhaps even use a 700W power supply directly.

The Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti is around five percent faster than the RTX 3070 on average and is almost 20 percent behind the RTX 3080. In terms of efficiency, the RTX 3070 is preferable. The RTX 3070 Ti buys five percent more power compared to the RTX 3070 with a higher power consumption of 70 watts.
How does the Nvidia Geforce RTX 3070 Ti compare to the AMD Radeon RX 6800 (XT)?
The real reason for the release of the Geforce RTX 3070 Ti was the Radeon RX 6800 from AMD, which has easily outperformed the RTX 3070 so far. However, the RTX 3070 Ti does not manage to reach the performance of the RX 6800 either. The AMD model is almost five percent faster on average, and the RX 6800 XT is even more than 20 percent.
